Dr. Jennifer Edwards, Practice Owner
Dr. Edwards graduated with her B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 1992 and later earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She spent two years working in Northern Virginia before moving to New Hampshire in 2000. She then spent 2 years doing relief work, which gave her the unique opportunity to work in many veterinary hospitals throughout southern NH. The next five years were spent as an associate in a high quality practice where Dr. Edwards gained valuable medical and surgical experience.
Dr. Edwards enjoys many aspects of practice including dentistry, dermatology, pain management, laser surgery, internal medicine and client relations. She is a member of many professional associations and strives to keep current.
Dr. Edwards has advanced training in dentistry. In 2012, she trained with a board certified Veterinary Dentist in Colorado. This training enhanced her skills, knowledge and techniques. She is proud of the high quality of dentistry practiced at Ponemah and appreciates the profound difference that dentistry done well can make in the quality of an animal's life.
In 2013, Dr. Edwards introduced Laser Therapy to her practice which is a wonderful treatment option for a variety of conditions as it helps to reduce pain, inflammation, and speed healing. Anything she can do to help animals is exciting!
Dr. Edwards places high value on client service and client education. She believes that the way to a healthy pet is through a well-educated and satisfied pet owner. She is always happy to discuss your pet's healthcare needs at length and has an abundance of educational materials specially designed and written for the pet owner. She is always open to conversation so please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Edwards is very active. She enjoys competitive couples dancing, yoga, hiking, skiing, and spending time with her husband Jay, daughter Jadyn, and stepsons Zack and Austin. The Edwards are also proud to share their home with two wonderful dogs named Annie and Jackson.
