We know pets are afraid of the veterinarian—it’s just a fact of life. And while we can’t verbally communicate to your furry friends that we are here to help, we have taken a huge step to show them that we are the good guys: We are proud to say that Ponemah Veterinary Hospital employs Fear-Free-certified professionals. Since we began training in Fear-Free best practices, we have been incredibly pleased with the client and patient responses to our tactics for reducing fear and anxiety.

What is Fear-Free Certification?

If you’re unfamiliar with this approach, the Fear-Free Certification Program is a training course that helps veterinarians modify clinic procedures, handling, and facilities to help pets feel safe and comfortable while receiving the medical care they need. At Ponemah Veterinary Hospital, everyone on our team is Fear-Free certified.

How Does a Professional Get this Distinction?

For an individual employee to become a Fear-Free Certified Professional, they must complete the Fear-Free certification program, which consists of eight training modules. In these modules, our team members learned better clinic procedures, handling techniques, and ways to make pets feel safer and more comfortable at their appointments.
